The phone network for ham shacks
Put a desk phone in your shack and call other hams by their callsign. Free for licensed radio amateurs, run by volunteers.
How it works
- Register. Enter your callsign. We check it against the FCC license database and email the address the FCC has on file.
- Set up a phone. Plug in a supported desk phone and load your settings with one file, or use the free Linphone app, or call straight from your web browser.
- Call your friends. Your extension is your callsign: dial it on the keypad (N0CALL is 6-0-2-2-5-5) or pick it from the phonebook.
๐ Callsign calling
Keypad dialing by callsign, a member directory, favorites and busy-lamp keys that show when your friends are on a call.
๐๏ธ Nets and rooms
A conference room for every state, your own personal room, and scheduled nets with a net control console and check-in logs.
๐ป News and bands
Amateur Radio Newsline and This Week in Amateur Radio on demand, plus HF band conditions from NOAA space-weather data.
โ๏ธ Weather alerts
NWS alerts for your state, and weather-radio style paging: your phone answers itself when a warning is issued for your county.
๐ AllStarLink
Join the ShackComm AllStar hub from your desk phone and talk through linked repeaters.
๐ Private by design
Encrypted calls, two-factor login, and you choose whether you're listed in the directory or show your busy status.
Who can join
Anyone holding a current FCC amateur radio license. ShackComm starts in the USA; other countries may follow. It's not a replacement for a regular phone, and it can't call 911.
